The calculators on AllJobsCalc are provided for general informational and estimation purposes only. They are based on commonly published code tables (including the National Electrical Code, International Plumbing Code, and International Residential Code) and standard industry rules of thumb, as understood at the time each calculator was built. They are not a substitute for:

  • the current edition of the code adopted in your jurisdiction, including local amendments;
  • a licensed electrician, plumber, HVAC contractor, or other trade professional's judgment;
  • a stamped engineering calculation where one is required (e.g., Manual J/S/D for HVAC design);
  • approval or inspection by your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

Code changes over time

Code tables (NEC, IPC, IRC, and others) are revised on a regular cycle, and local jurisdictions frequently adopt amended or older versions. A calculator built against one code edition may not reflect what your local AHJ currently enforces. When in doubt, consult the current code book or your local inspector.
