What’s new
Every change that affects what you see or calculate, newest first. Corrections to code values are marked as corrections. The same history, calculator by calculator, is on the Sources & methodology page.
- Addresses that do not exist now show a proper “page not found” page in your language, with links back to the calculators, instead of a copy of the home page.
- New guides: NEC box fill step by step, conduit fill rules, the voltage drop formula (English and Spanish, REBT), NEC Article 430 motor circuit sizing, spindle speed and feed rate formulas (English and German), drain sizing to DIN EN 12056-2 (German) and superheat and subcooling (English and Italian).
- Every calculator page now explains how it works, lists common mistakes, what it does not cover and its primary sources, with a last-reviewed date.
- Correction, box fill: grounding conductors now follow the 2020 and 2023 NEC 314.16(B)(5) rule (up to four grounds count as one allowance, each additional one adds a quarter). The calculator has a new field for the number of grounds; the old note about isolated grounds, from the 2017 edition, was removed.
- HVAC load estimator: added the ENERGY STAR room air conditioner sizing chart and its adjustments for comparison.
- About page: who runs the site and how the numbers are checked.
- Motor full-load current: two-phase motors (Table 430.249), synchronous motors with the 90% and 80% power-factor multipliers, 115 V and 2,300 V columns, 250 to 500 hp.
- Voltage drop: metric mode following the Spanish REBT technical guide (mm², 230/400 V), the default on European-language pages.
- CNC speeds and feeds: metric mode with turning and drilling.
- Roof pitch: metric mode (slope in % and degrees, m²).
- Superheat and subcooling: bar and °C mode.
- Welding: metric view (mm, m/min, 2.5 to 5 mm electrodes).
- Transformer sizing: European mode with the ratings of EU Regulation 548/2014, kW and cos φ input.
- Stair stringer: metric mode in centimetres with the step-length rule.
- New reference charts: EMT conduit fill chart and box fill chart, in all seven languages.
- Correction, box fill: four box volumes were wrong. A 4" square box 1-1/2" deep is 21.0 cu in (was 21.5); 3×2" device boxes 2-1/2", 2-3/4" and 3-1/2" deep are 12.5, 14.0 and 18.0 cu in.
- New Sources & methodology page: the code section, checks and limits behind every calculator, with a corrections log.
- Full privacy policy in seven languages and a contact address on every page.
- Pipe sizing: European method (EN 12056-2, System I), the default on European-language pages.
- Motor current: European method for IEC motors in kW at 50 Hz. Septic sizing: French and Italian rules.
- Every calculator page gained a worked example, frequently asked questions, reference tables where useful and related calculators.
- Site launched on alljobscalc.com with 16 calculators across seven trades.
- Translations into Spanish, Italian, French, German, Chinese and Greek.
- Correction, drain pipe sizing: a 2" horizontal branch carries at most 6 drainage fixture units (IPC Table 710.1(2)); it previously allowed 16. Any branch serving a water closet now needs at least 3".
- First electrical, HVAC and plumbing calculators built.
